Thomas Hobbs is an internationally acclaimed impresario of garden and floral design. He was “born obsessed with plants” and had his first greenhouse at age six. He owns and operates the acclaimed Southlands Nursery in Vancouver, Canada, and his private garden and nursery have been featured in numerous gardening magazines including Gardens Illustrated, Horticulture, House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens and Garden Design. He has been featured in ‘Martha Stewart Living’ and ‘Recreating Eden’ television shows. He lectures on garden design across North America. He is also the author of Shocking Beauty (Periplus Editions, 1999), the bestselling celebration of dramatic garden design and the critically acclaimed The Jewel Box Garden (Timber Press, 2006). Tom also is the author of the Southlands Nursery blog, ‘Tom Speaks.’
